Dr. Hilger is a Featured Speaker at Finess and Facial Plastic Surgery
Dr. Hilger was recently a featured speaker at Finess and Facial Plastic Surgery, an international course hosted in Regensburg, Germany. He performed live cosmetic surgery, including an endoscopic browlift. Lectures included rhinoplasty, soft tissue reconstruction, innovative uses of Botox and Fillers as well as blepharoplasty and periorbital rejuvenation.
Dr. Hilger also recently presented at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New Orleans, LA. He was a featured speaker discussing otoplasty as well as complex facial reconstruction with free-flaps. He also did a simulation lab on high tech soft tissue reconstruction model.
Dr. Hilger will be one of the two featured speakers at the annual Oculoplastic Surgery Society meeting to be held November 13th through 16th, in New Orleans, LA. He will be discussing periorbital rejuvenation, lower lid blepharoplasty and facelifts. His participation includes formal lectures as well as panel discussions. The meeting is sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive Surgery. This is the largest group of oculoplastic surgeons in the United States.
Dr. Peter Hilger is the Director of Advances in Rhinoplasty 2013
Dr. Hilger was one of three directors selected to organize the Advances in Rhinoplasty Course in May of 2013 in Chicago, IL. The course had an international faculty. This is the longest running rhinoplasty course in the world and is only offered on alternate years. The course is sponsored by the American Academy of Facial, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hilger was selected as the senior director for this course based on his strong leadership position in Facial Plastic Surgery as well as his experience in both primary and secondary revision rhinoplasty procedures. The course had record attendance, which further demonstrates the value of the educational experience.
Dr. Hilger has just completed his term as the President of the American Board of Otolaryngology. Certification by this Board includes the field facial plastic surgery. Selection as a director of this Board is a great honor and reflects the integrity, leadership and surgical talents of those elected.
JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery is the journal published by the American Medical Association that reflects the specialty of facial plastic surgery. Dr. Hilger has been an associate editor for the journal since its inception over a decade ago. Editors are selected based on their clinical skills, literary contributions and commitment to facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Hilger is a Director the Fellowships for Facial Plastic Surgery. Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship represents a year of additional training, beyond the 5 years of residency. This additional training is focused on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Hilger has been a Fellowship Director at the University of Minnesota for Facial Plastic Surgery for over 20 years. Graduates of this Fellowship Program have gone on to be leaders across the country including faculty members at Baylor University, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins University, University of Texas-Southwestern and Northwestern University.
Dr. Hilger has just completed a term as a member of the task force to redesign the educational portal for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Members of the task force were selected based on their teaching experience, leadership history and commitment to innovative educational techniques and technologies.
