There are very few contra-indications to a facelift. Most patients do very well and have a gratifying result.
However, there are some patients who should avoid this type of surgery. There are unusual medical conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, in which the elasticity of the skin is very abnormal, and the results of surgery would be unacceptable. Some patients have general medical conditions that are contra-indications to surgery which include patients who are on blood-thinners or significant amounts of immune-suppressant drugs.
