What is the follow-up care like after a facelift? How many check-ups will I need and for how long?
Facelifts are routinely done as outpatient procedures in the surgery center adjacent to my office. You return on the first day after the surgery so that we can change the bandages and clean the incision lines and provide further instructions and support for you. You then return approximately six days later and the initial sutures are removed. We then often see you again a few days later to monitor the healing. After that, it’s typical that we see you at one month, three months, six months and a year. It’s unlikely that you would need any additional care during that period of time, but we do like to monitor the healing and show the pre- and postoperative changes so that you can appreciate the attractive changes that have been achieved.
