Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping)
Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), sometimes referred to as a “nose job,” is the most common facial plastic surgery and provides natural, lasting results for patients. At the Hilger Clinic, Dr. Hilger and Dr. Lyford-Pike are double board-certified in Facial Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology. They are undoubtedly the busiest rhinoplasty surgeons in the region, caring for more than 250 patients each year. As you can see in our photo gallery, small anatomic or structural changes create remarkably profound aesthetic differences. These results are lasting because in rhinoplasty the majority of the change is created by sculpting the cartilage and bony framework. Our expertise and interest is demonstrated by the numerous international courses our surgeons teach (many are referenced in the resumes of Dr. Hilger and Dr. Lyford-Pike) and the number of patients referred to our practice for revision rhinoplasty or secondary rhinoplasty to correct aesthetic problems or nasal obstruction.
We are one of the few practices in the region that offer 3D digital imaging and video imaging to visually demonstrate the potential changes we recommend.
The goal of rhinoplasty is to create an aesthetically pleasing nose that functions well and harmonizes with the other facial features. A nose that is attractive on one patient may not be as attractive on another. On occasion, we may discuss with you other aesthetic procedures to enhance the rhinoplasty and provide further facial harmony. An excellent example is the patient who sees his/her nose as excessively large, but also has a under-projected chin. The best aesthetic outcome may be to correct the nose and also augment the chin, thus providing aesthetic balance.
